Saddened to hear of the death of the three missing #Israelis whose bodies were found near Hebron. It is time violence ended and a genuine drive for a just peace started.
Over 1,500 Palestinian children have been killed by Israel since 2000.
Israel regularly abducts Palestinian children, beats them, humiliates them and brings them to military courts in shackles. In 2012 Foreign-Office commissioned report confirmed that Israel treated Palestinian children adults at 16 while Jewish Israelis were legally not considered as adults until 18.
Israel missed the opportunity to show a genuine desire for peace in the recent peace talks, choosing to build illegal settlements instead. I fear that rather than conduct a proper investigation into the deaths, Israel will collectively punish Palestinians. It has done this since the three went missing, arresting hundreds and killing at least five Palestinians. An enlightened Israeli leadership will want to end the conflict and move to end the occupation of Palestine. I fear it will choose violence.

Israelis should blame their leaders for walling them in. The latest ‘wall’ has been promised by the deluded and dangerous Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This would be, according to Haaretz’s Barak Ravid, a wall along ‘Israel’s Eastern Border’, from Eilat to the Golan.
This would follow the West Bank Wall and the Southern wall with Egypt.
It shouldn’t be lost on Netanyahu and Israelis that by declaring the wall on the eastern border to be along the current borders with Jordan and Syria it is announcing a one state between the river and the sea. Netanyahu does not distinguish between the internationally recognised border with Jordan and the occupation border , which includes the West Bank the Syrian Golan and It signals the death of the two state solution once and for all.
The other thing it does is signal to the World that Israel cannot live with and trust its neighbours. This is after 67 years of its imposition on the region on the land of the Palestinians. It has not made peace even with the Peoples of the states with which it signed peace treaties. Neither Egyptians nor Jordanians have made peace with the Israeli people.
Despite the Palestinian leadership agreeing to a state on only 22% of historic Palestine and the Arab states offering the ‘Arab Peace Initiative’, both amazing concessions to a belligerent occupying power, Israel still isn’t satisfied. It still claims the whole if the land between the river if the sea and contends the lands it illegally occupies as ‘disputed’.
Israeli leaders have failed their people. They have continually deluded them into believing they can achieve a ‘peaceful occupation’ because of their superior power, but that will joy bring peace and they will live in a perpetual state of insecurity. They have failed to explain to them that peace only comes from an acknowledgement of the wrong committed in 1948 and in returning occupied land to its rightful owners. An acceptance of the Arab Peace Plan and its sincere implementation would bring peace yo this troubled land.
Instead of tearing down walls and perusing genuine peace, Israeli leaders promise more. The more walks they build the more they isolate the state and the people. The more they refuse to right the wrong, the more the World will isolate them.
It seems when Netanyahu promises more walls, Israelis say how high? They will have to live with the isolation and BDS. It us a democracy after all, isn’t it!
The holy month of Ramadan starts this weekend. Muslims all over the World will be breaking their fast with a glass of water and an odd number of dates, following in the steps of Prophet Muhammed, peace be upon him.
The search will be on for the best dates and Israel will be busy marketing dates from the illegal colonies in the West Bank. Dates grown on stolen Palestinian land, watered with stolen Palestinian water, within touching distance of Palestinian villages deprived of water.
Israel is systematically strangling the Jordan Vally where most if the Medjool dates are grown and has vowed not to leave this fettle area in any future peace deal. It claims that it needs it for security but that is simply a lie.
The Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions aims to place pressure on Israel until it meets three conditions:
1. Ending its occupation and colonization of all Arab lands and dismantling the Wall
2. Recognizing the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality; and
3. Respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN resolution 194.
Let us make sure Apartheid Israel dies not profit from its illegal occupation. Play your part this Ramadan. Buy Palestinian dates and boycott Israeli dates.
I feel for everyone that has suffered from the violence in Syria. But Palestinian refugees have nowhere to go. The whole World bears responsibility for their plight, especially the Zionist entity Israel. It was the ethnic cleansing conducted by Zionist terrorist gangs that morphed into the Israeli Defence Force which expelled them. If Israel was a true democracy it would allow them home.
In an exchange of tweets, Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt promised more ‘clarity’ in EU economic relations with Israel’s illegal settlements. This follows my challenge to him following this tweet on the Ukraine.
This kind of swift action here and indeed when Iraq occupied Kuwait, but not against Israel’s illegal occupation that raises Palestinian accusations if double standards. It could not be clearer.
The EU has moved to place pressure on the settlement enterprise but at the same time allows Israel to continue with business as usual. It was even admitted to the Horizon2020 Programme, the only non EU state to be accommodated in this way.
This position is simply indefensible. Double standards and the singling out of Israel, a colonialist, occupying. Apartheid state for a special position in the EU devalues the values citizens across the EU hold dear to their hearts and fought hard to secure. The Swedish Foreign Minister promises more clarity on economic links with settlements. Clarity means BDS until Israel meets the terms of the BDS call.
